The scene where Rachel is being bullied by the two teen mean girls, she gets up and goes for a swim as they watch. What was that? Was she trying to make them jealous with their body?
Yes, I wouldn’t describe her experience as bullying, however, throughout season one, Rachel’s journey is realizing that she isn’t particularly intelligent or successful. She is out off by being an arm piece to her husband- and thought there was more to both herself, and to Shane’s and other peoples attraction to her. But throughout the series, she is rebuffed time and again. People aren’t impressed with her intelligence, her no name education or her fledgling career in freelance journalism- at least not this crowd. The only impressive part about her is her looks, which she traded in for access to Shane’s cushy life and world.
Lol hard relate except I'm not as pretty as Alexandra Daddario. But I too was saddened to discover I'm not particularly cool or smart or interesting as an adult. It's sad!
+2 same here! Except I recently have found a passion in a hobby that people view as “cool/badass” and all the sudden everyone thinks I’m so interesting. It’s a great conversation piece. You just need to find your own unique space where you belong!
