Bumping this for the folks who are in denial about what Christian nationalists want.
Thanks, pp. [img] [/img]
I gather you think this is funny somehow? Perhaps instead of relying on unimaginative mockery you would do better to explain what you understand the Christian nationalist agenda to be. Please educate me.
I’d rather wake up with my head nailed to the floor than engage with you, beyond mocking your sad life.
So you actually have no idea what you’re defending. Got it.
The Trump campaign distanced itself on Monday from a transition project led by the Heritage Foundation and other aligned groups that have broadcast their efforts to screen staffers for a second Trump administration and root out dissenters via social media posts. Trump advisers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita on Monday distanced the campaign from the Heritage-led effort, saying that those plans are "not authorized in any way." "Any personnel lists, policy agendas, or government plans published anywhere are merely suggestions," the statement says. "Policy recommendations from external allies are just that—recommendations." https://freebeacon.com/elections/trump-campaign-swats-down-heritage-foundation-transition-effort-led-by-longtime-desantis-ally/ You are nuts. Got it.
This would be the same Susie wiles who told megadonors “not to take Trump’s divisive rhetoric too seriously”? Sorry. Wouldn’t take anything she says seriously.
Andra Watkins has published works of fiction and non-fiction. Her acclaimed debut novel To Live Forever: An Afterlife Journey of Meriwether Lewis inspired her walk of the ancient Natchez Trace, an adventure that led to the best selling memoir Not Without My Father: One Woman's 444-Mile Walk of the Natchez Trace. Her second novel, Hard To Die extended the Nowhere Series with an inventive new take on the uncharted fate of Theodosia Burr Alston, the fiery daughter of Alexander Hamilton's murderer Aaron Burr. The Nowhere Series continues with I Am Number 13. Find her at andrawatkins.com ^^ but you take this person seriously.
Pp. I have no idea why you’re suggesting I take Andra Watkins seriously. I do, however, take project 2025 seriously and that’s what my posts have referred to. Trump doesn’t actually have any policies so he’ll do whatever seems easiest to him and that his base loves. Remember the federalist society?
Because you linked to Andra Watkins’s Salon article explaining Project 2025. How does she have any idea about Project 2025, any specific or special insight? She writes fantasy novels about Aaron Burr’s fictional daughter. She’s an expert you believe, but you know nothing about her or her qualifications to inform you.
There’s this little trick writers can employ; it’s called “research.”
DP. Just stop. You look absolutely ridiculous. And once again - none of this has anything to do with Trump. Sorry to disappoint.
So you’ve gone from sign me up to this has nothing to do with Trump. Don’t be naive. This is the Republican Party now. Own it.
Um... you're confusing posters. I never said "sign me up." Do you know what 'DP' means? And no, this is not "the Republican party now." These are fringe groups no one has ever heard of. Don't you have anything REAL to worry about these days?
Dp- the Heritage Foundation isn’t some obscure fringe group. It used to be a very normal conservative think tank, and has historically been very influential and consequential. It has been taken over by right wing religious nut jobs. But that should surprise no one, as the entire Republican Party has been hijacked by right wing nut jobs. Traditional conservatives have no home, and Trump has loudly stated as much. He doesn’t think Nikki Haley voters belong in the party. Kari Lake told McCaine voters to F off. Ohio senate candidate Bernie Moreno told “Rhino” republicans to go vote for Sherrod Brown. Posters can quibble about opinion pieces on Salon.com all day long. It doesn’t change the fact that the Republican Party has devolved into a populist moment defined by Christian Nationalism. And just like every other flavor of fascism they aren’t being explicitly truthful with their endgame. But they have said enough. If you want to ignore the grass roots effort to enforce the death penalty for abortion, proposed laws to stop women from traveling if it’s suspected they might be seeking abortive care, push for ending no fault divorce, i guess you can plug your ears and ignore. You can ignore Ohio senator JD Vance saying even if a women is experiencing domestic abuse, she shouldn’t be able to obtain a divorce. You can ignore it. But it’s getting harder to do so. They are getting louder, and bolder. They are spelling it out. We’re just paying attention and taking them at their word.
This is what you are doing: Both the Trump campaign and the Heritage Foundation have stressed that they do not speak for each other. Democrats hope to tie them together in the public’s mind and leave it to Trump and other Republicans to untangle them.
