NP. FYI people, IKEA receipts (along with a bunch of other stores) now have fading ink that completely is gone within 6 months of purchase. This is a new thing a lot of stores are doing now. Everyone is trying to save money. Anyway, I would scan or copy receipts of big purchase items with warranties if you want to be able to refer to them later.
Thermal printing is nothing new. Thermal printing used to be on that special paper that would turn pink and purple with age, but now can be printed on paper that doesn't change colors and only fades. Ikea and many other vendors just converted to using thermal printing because it is cheaper than other forms of printing. And for the PP, I just checked and my Discover on-line record goes back to 2006 (although I've had the card for many more years than that). I would check on-line records for your credit cards. If you can find a charge to Ikea in 2008 for a large sum, then they might accept the credit card statement as proof, or they might be able to track the purchase based on the sale date.
