I think one day we will all be part of one big culture.
a New World Order?
People are moving all over the planet now. We are mingling. There will be very few places where there are totally uninfluenced or separate cultures. I think that is the direction we are going in. Culture is only man-made anyway and nothing sacred about it IMO.
That is where you are wrong. There is something sacred in having a background, an identity. Similar to when people who are not from one place, claim they are from one place, in the name of homogeny. Bullshit. People are different, as they should be. It is supposed to be a good thing. If people are so judgmental that it is not a good thing to be different, that is their problem (and eventually their own demise). Culture is created by people. What is sacred about it? It is an evolving thing -- and thank goodness for that. I would hate to live with some of the societal mores of just a generation or two ago. We are coming together as a people and being influenced by each other, like it or not. Worshiping the past is useless and only means you feel less important than people who no longer exist.
