I think she looked lovely within the guidelines she pretty much had to follow. I am not sure any train longer than what she had would look good, really - Diana's was so crazy over the top. Now, if she were a normal bride, I would have gotten rid of the sleeves and gone much more form fitting. Pippa's dress would have looked amazing on her as well. I think she got the rules and the tone right with this dress, even if it was slightly underwhelming. I think she was going for elegant and slightly understated so as not to offend people. Seriously, poor girl had a lot of rules, spoken and unspoken, to follow.
This is exactly what I was going to say. If she were not marrying into the royal family, my guess is that her dress would have been much modern, possibly strapless or form-fitting, but that wasn't an option here. With the requirements levied on her, it was gorgeous. I loved the veil and LOVED her sister's dress. Beatrice and Eugenie, however, seriously need a stylist. ugh. I noticed the makeup was heavy, too, but my guess was that it was partly to not look washed out to the estimated 2 billion people watching online or on tv.
