Someone in admin at my school said they are available in ParentVue. I am pretty sure they are not. Perhaps the school admin was confused because MAP scores are there? I feel like MCPS is just silently protesting because they don't like MCAP.
I agree they are confusing them with MAP.
MAP is a fine test. I'd pay attention to that not MCAP.
MAP is also an MCPS test, whereas MCAP is a state test. It isn't MCPS job to handle MCAP. If you are unhappy, write your state legislator about it.
MCPS has to follow MSDE requirements. And MSDE is requiring MCPS to distribute the reports. MCPS doesn’t want parents to know how badly their kids are doing in school. Here everyone gets As, and everyone is meeting standards!
Loosen up that tinfoil hat. Everyone knows that no one's doing great in that test.
There are parents who presume their kid is doing fine because kid gets straight As. MCAP report iis an important data point for them. Even MAP reports aren’t usually sent home — you have to know to go to ParentVue to find it. Not all parents are as in-the-know as DCUM parents.
It is not
Well, it’s important to me. It’s one of the few independent measures we get.
Measure of *what" though? Says you get a "675 Not Proficient" or a 725 Proficient". What do you do with that information? If you want useful information, look at their homework/exams or give them a test like Khan Academy where you can see the questions and answers.
