This is a public school lax forum. With the exodus of talent to privates, any public school with 5 D1 commits on the roster is a rarity nowadays and should be recognized. If you don’t like it, go find another forum.
Thank you for standing up for those players! Any athlete whether D1, D2, and D3 will get a once in a life time opportunity to play on the collegiate level and will be molded into hard working young adults when they graduate college. I’d rather my kid play a sport in college then be in a sorority or frat. Athletics isn’t for everyone but I can attest they make the best employees for their competitive work ethic.
You must have limited hiring and employment experience. I bet more than half of the players who go on to play lax in college hate it after their 2nd year. They will never admit that to their parents. They probably keep playing for other reasons. My daughter was recruited to play D3 in college but was accepted to much better schools so decided not to play in college and go for the better academic school. She's now 4th year pre-med at Duke, has been accepted to medical school, and has absolutely no regrets dropping lax. But this is just one data point. These kids should follow their passion and not get caught up in all the hoopla.
There are lots of girls who get to play lacrosse at high academic institutions. Sorry it wasn't an option for your daughter. Maybe if you'd tried harder for her. Also I think lots of parents with kids playing club lax likely understand 'hiring and employment experience'. This does not make you unique.
