Serious question. Is it practicing on BRAVE fields is too far? Is it increased roster size? Seems like partnering with BRAVE would make the teams stronger (even if only by a little), so I'm not sure why top players would be leaving.
Recruiting for top players. Roster size for everyone else
Understand roster size, how does this affect recruiting for top players in a negative way?
It doesn't unless BRAVE or BRYC coaches get older teams. Those coaches have no track record or network compared to McLean.
McLean is getting the older ages.
Are you on the board of the FXU and can confirm that's true? Whether we stay or go will depend on coaching slate.
Are you saying your kids are to good to play for BRYC or VYS coaches? How arrogant.
VYS does not have any ECNL level teams or cosches. Therefore They shouldn’t be assigned to any FXU ECNL teams. This new club needs to post the criteria they are using to assign coaches. It should be clear and metrics based.
Answer the question. Are you saying that the current Union families are too good to have their kids coached by a VYS coach? Do you feel this way about BRYC as well? The criteria has been posted. All things including coaching coaching decisions need to be approved unanimously. I really hope the VYS and BRYC coaches are reading these forums. Both clubs are a part of this ‘Union’ now and their coaches should be given THEIR 2/3 of the HC coaching slots on both the boys and girls sides. If BRYC and VYS already starts conceding ground on major issues such as this then we are just in for another decade of The McLean Way. And if ECNL has taught us anything recently it’s that The McLean Way is no longer wanted and it does not work.
BRYC should get ZERO coaching slots. Who are their coaching prospects? TD’s son and parent coach? VYS and McLean should agree to split, like 5-1 or 4-2 in McLean’s favor on the girls side and vice versa on the boys for VYS. Get it done.
Another clown, its a three way powershare, get throuhg your skull, McLean is stuck with Brave until the next collapse or merger
You are not understanding. Instead of BRAVE being 2/3rds of the vote, VYS should team with McLean to be the 2/3rds and give BRYC jacks—-…which is what BRYC deserves at this point. BRYC can’t even field RL teams, they are completely irrelevant. Giving them anything just assures a next collapse will happen.
No bro, you are not understanding. It's done, 3 way Power Share. It's literaly only waiting on McLean boys coaches to sign off, and get off their false supremacy, your pogram is average at best, annouce the coaches already.
I’m not with McLean. The only way this works out is if McLean and VYS share the power and give BRYC as little power and influence as possible. If BRYC is going to lobby for their TD’s kid to get a team, etc., this will go downhill real fast and Fairfax Union’s run will be even shorter than Fairfax BRAVE’s.
What has VYS accomplished to deserve such a controlling interest? They were a ECNL feeder club. They never had the patch. VYS is a small time grass roots, community club. They know nothing about college recruitment, ECNL level competition and player identification and development for that level. BRYC, simply proved they couldn't cut it at that level and were about to be kicked out until they were given a stay of execution with VYS. Clearly VYS wasn't quite the fix or neither club would be in this spot right now. VYS has fields. that's it, that's their contribution. VYS only has 7 girls who made State ODP. So, by all means, such a rich player pool and rich history should be driving a ECNL ship that fell into their lap without doing a thing as a club to earn it on their own. It will fail and VYS won't care because they will just go back to grass roots, community soccer, which is what they are good at.
