What is an impacted major?
I think it means that too many people want to major in it so they limit the number of people that can major in it. So it worries me that if you pay out of state rates for UCLA you might not even be able to major in what you want.
But wouldn't you know that before you decided to go there? I'm not being facetious, but wouldn't you have to be accepted into the college you wanted first?
Just trying to gather information before I even let my dc go down that path of strongly considering this school. We like the school, the academics, the location. We have family and friends in the area. But I am concerned about so many restrictions and obstacles that the UC system might create. My DC is undecided on a major at this point but when I hear that majors like English and Economics are limited it makes me wonder how difficult this school makes things. Just wondering if anyone has a student that went to UCLA.
