Cheverly is an awesome town! It's way better than close-in suburbs in VA, in my opinion. It's easy to get around. It's very community oriented, with the neighborhood market, a summer festival, lots of events for people with kids and without. There's the American Legion which is super cool. So many parks to explore. A community pool (requires membership, but it's AWESOME). A nature trail to walk, that the local boy scouts maintain. The residents are diverse and welcoming. We've moved here from Capitol Hill because we wanted a house, yard, and neighborhood feel but still wanted easy access to all of our favorite spots on the Hill. It's so close to the Hill (and easy traveling, as opposed to traveling to the Hill from Del Ray or somewhere in VA where you never know what the 395 traffic will be). My only wish is that Cheverly had a neighborhood coffee shop. If there was somewhere to walk and get coffee on a Saturday morning, it would be a complete utopia for my family. (I must mention that the every-other-Saturday markets that are held May-October, do sell coffee so my one wish is granted on those mornings!)
