Advil is a much safer drug. I don't know what 3x a day means (need to know the dosage) but lots of doctors will recommend long-term ibuprofin use. In fact, the longer you use it, the better certain problems get. Its anti-inflammatory effect means that certain muscular problems will heal better/stronger with regular use. [/quote]

And this is exactly the kind of misinformation I'm talking about (PP at 12:13).  Aspirin can irritate your stomach, but ADVIL/IBUPROFEN/MOTRIN can be very damaging to your stomach - it can cause ulcers, bleeding, etc.

Please, just call your doctor.

Oh my god, do call your doctor! Advil/ibuprofen/motrin (all the same) CAN and DO CAUSE ulcers, stomach irritation, bleeding, etc. If you do take it, take it with food to 'soften the blow' to the stomach. Anyway, [b]posters like 12:13  are very scary in their self righteousness and 'WRONG WRONG WRONG' information[/b].

My dad almost died from a bleeding ulcer (black tarry stools, etc) from taking too much motrin. He had a stint in an ICU for 5 days for it.[/quote]
