The best kids' show ever is...

Absolutely.

From that show I learned how to count by "
The Count," say water in Spanish (Agua) from Big Bird and that being gay was a-okay from Ernie & Burt!!

The Cindy Lauper song is awesome (Lady in Pink). Also love the 80s dance episode about Giants. Ping Pong bandit was my daughter's favorite for a time, I think I've seen that episode more than 50 times.

I am seriously obsessed with that show. I wish there was a fan site for it. The music was always really good. The Rock opera one was fantastic.

My husband deleted Racing Day off our DVR and I was so mad.

I used to watch wishbone voluntarily in hs and college. My mom even bought me a wishbone stuffed animal.

We need to start a muppet babies petition!

Word World (I love Ss-hark)
Ruff Ruffman
Magic School Bus
Carmen Sandiego
Zaboomafoo
Wild Kratts
Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies
Big Big World (awesome theme song!)

And why are these no longer available on WETA, even in reruns?? Drives me NUTS. Why must they just show Curious George (which I hate) over and over again???

Thankfully Netflix has Word World, Fetch, Magic School Bus, Zaboomafoo, and Wild Kratts. Sometimes the choices on PBS can get a bit monotonous, especially when your kids have passed the preschool programming.

If you have Amazon Prime, you can watch all the Backyardigans episodes for free on Amazon Video!

Toot and Puddle. Wish I could find it on DVD!

Sentimental about Muppet Babies, Fraggle Rock and Square One.

Fraggle Rock is on Amazon. I tried a number of times to get my DD into it to no avail. When she vetoed Labyrinth, I questioned her maternity.

I saw Reading Rainbow on Netflix the other day too, but not sure if it is the original or a new version.

LOVED Square One! Mathnet and Mathman!

I heard that they can't release the Muppet Babies on DVD due to copyright issues--too many clips from other shows. It makes me sad too. Of course, since my kids have soundly rejected every show from my childhood I have shown them, it's probably good I don't have to deal with this disappointment as well.

Another big fan of Backyardigans here. We got all episodes from iTunes (I think).

Love Arthur.

There are some decent series on Netflix. DC and I adore the Octonauts. DC also loves Dinotrux, which gives me a headache after awhile.
