Hi -
A friend just relocated to Philadelphia with family after a stressful year. I would like to order a delivery of cupcakes or other delicious baked goods to welcome them to their new home. Any recommendations? Thank you! |
Shane Confectionery on Market Street. Hand made candies since 1911. |
Stock’s is known for pound cake. They are a solid bakery with other offerings, though known as the best pound cake. |
Beiler’s Donuts or Federal Donuts, or Famous 4th Street Cookies from Reading Terminal Market (get the chocolate chip ones).
Alternatively, a gift basket from Di Bruno Bros. - an amazing family-owned specialty grocery store and cheesemonger with a few locations in Philly. They have several pre-made gift baskets, so you don’t have to put it together yourself. |
OP here. Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll look in to them.

Second diBruno Bros. Cheese and salamis are terrific. And though I like sweets, I'd prefer them to cupcakes (speaking as someone who just moved and is hungry and exhausted). |
Isgros Bakery - get a selection of Italian pastries! |
Termini Brothers for cake and cannoli for classic Philly. However, Metropolitan bakery also has excellent chocolate sea salt cherry cookies and a flourless chocolate torte. |
John and Kira’s - chocolates!

I’m a PP - funny that you suggest the Metropolitan flourless chocolate cake; I live in Philly and my mom always requests I bring her one when I come back to visit. It’s good! |
Agree with Termini, DiBruno and Metropolitan! |
OP here, thank you all, it’s awesome to have more recommendations. I’m filing them away for future use, maybe I’ll go visit haha (Went with diBruno) |
good choice! |
When I worked in Philly, my team always requested this cake for special occasions! |
