of the young male actors, who do you think could be the next brad pitt?

i was having this conversation with some girlfriends this weekend and I couldn't think of anyone, perhaps because I am getting old and out-of-touch with the younger set. I am hoping that some of you moms and dads of teenagers or you avid US Weekly readers might be able to help us out. Are there any young actors now that are like Brad Pitt was in a River Runs Through It and might end up a pretty fantastic actor as they get older? it seems people like ryan gosling. who else is there?

Ryan Gosling for sure.

Emile Hirsch.

Ben Foster.

Brad Pitt is kind of unique. He became famous because he's so pretty, but it became apparent later in his career that he's actually a very talented actor. It's rare that he gets a chance to really show off his skills. Whereas most of the young actors (and actresses) who become famous for their looks don't have much more than that to offer. Honestly, I haven't been as impresed by anyone's acting chops, as I am by BP's. Leonardo diCaprio is the closest, but he's not as good-looking, and not as good an actor.

Ryan Gosling is as good an actor as Brad Pitt and probably better. I have a lot of respect for Brad Pitt -- I think he gets overlooked as a serious actor because of his looks -- but Ryan Gosling is immensely talented. Half-Nelson and Lars and the Real Girl? Amazing performances, both, and completely different.

Talented actor? He's got as much emotion and depth as a piece of wood.

Have you seen the Guy Ritchie movie, Snatch?

I don't know his name, but the actor who plays Silas on Weeds reminds me of a young Brad Pitt. Not sure how old he is, which makes me feel kind of creepy, but I assume he's at least 18.

Perhaps Leonardo diCaprio is not as good looking, but he is a MUCH better actor than Brad Pitt. Don't get me wrong, I think Brad Pitt is a good actor, but not at the level of DiCaprio. Brad Pitt is good at playing "crazy" rolls. He seems to be friends with his inner voices...in a good way of course. Also, I don't think Brad Pitt is aging so well...he was much better looking when he was younger. As opposed to George Clooney who I find to be much better looking now.

I agree with Ryan Gossling. I saw a movie where he played a Jew who became a white supremesist (sp?). He gave an amazing performance!
