I'm looking for a dentist for my 3 yr old son, any recommendations? I live in DC.

I like Dr. Ricardo Perez in Chevy Chase, MD. |
Dr Kuwabarra in Friendship Heights. |
Dr. Perez will NOT allow parents to accompany their kids, that didn't work for my family when they were so little.
We adore Dana Greenwald, she is also in Chevy Chase. She does all the fun stuff, sunglasses for the light, toy chest fingernail painting for those interested, and she does excellent work. She and her staff are goofy, silly and so patient, they even encourage you to stop in for a toy when you are in the neighborhood, just so your kid has good associations. My son got tiny pirate heads painted on his nails, quite the hit at preschool, lol. |
Another Dr. Dana fan. However, she does not take insurance and is quite expensive to pay out of pocket. Recently switched to a new dentist + a trip the toy store at each visit. Saving money. The regular check ups were a lot, but what was really expensive were getting 2 cavities filled for ~$550 when insurance reimbursed only ~$100. |
That's true, Perez does not allow parents to go back (and I get why they don't). The area where they clean the teeth is open, so nothing nefarious is going on there or anything. The kids I've seen all seem very happy to be there. |
