What to do if you believe your IP address is blocked

Because DCUM does not requires logins and is therefore an easy target for spam and other forms of abuse, we use a combination of manual and automatic blocks on IP addresses. Most blocks only last 24 hours. If you believe that your address has been wrongly blocked, do the following:

Go to:

http://www.myipaddress.com

while using the blocked address. Note the IP address displayed. Then, using a device or address that still allows connectivity, use the "report" button to report the address. If you desire feedback on your report, start a new thread in this forum and use the "report" button on that post.

IMPORTANT: DCUM only uses IPv4 which means that the addresses you report must be IPv4 addresses. They are formatted like this:

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (all "x"s will be numbers and there might be only one or two of them in each section rather than three.) Here is an example of an IPv4 address: 142.250.31.104.

Many users have been reporting IPv6 addresses. This is a newer addressing scheme that is not used by DCUM. IPv6 addresses are much longer and look like this:

xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx (all "x"s will be replaced by a combination of letters and numbers and each section will have between 0 and 4 characters.) Here is an example of an IPv6 address: 2607:f8b0:4004:c0b::68 (we don't use these).
