The Obamas are well-matched and to all appearances genuinely in love. Obama speaks so highly and so proudly of his wife, particularly when he talks about how she never chose to be First Lady but took it on and made it her own.

Any photo of the two of them dancing, or looking each other in the eye shows two people who are in love, and share a mutually respectful relationship.

For what it's worth, the same was true of George W Bush and Laura.

Whether you like President Obama's policies or not, he seems like a good husband and father.

is it? I googled because I was sad about this (actually, this whole thread) and TMZ says they flew together. I love Barack and Michelle and believe in them and their relationship.

I lucked out and found mine in college. Barack's look of love is real. His love for his wife extends to his daughters.

Michelle was childhood friends with the children of Jesse Jackson. She was privileged for her area.

Obama's body language and slight frame say gay to me. There's a pic on the net of him flinching and grabbing Michelle while observing a judo demo on the WH lawn. It looks so effeminate. My brother is a gay man and he has the same mannerisms. I love him dearly and he's a freakin' laugh riot to be around so spare me the bigot/ homophobe comments.

MO's father was a maintenance man and her mother SAHW. She attended private middle and high school on scholarships, like so many kids in the DMV. That does not make her privileged, just a smart kid who worked hard in school which secured her a scholarship.

Now slight men are gay. Wow, the ignorance on DCUM is astounding. I guess you don't know of any big, burly gay men. Or, fat gay men.

It was a big house. It's sad that so many people on DCUM hate their in-laws. Remember how you treat people may come back to you in spades. One day, your DIL and SIL will treat you as unkindly as you treat your in-laws.

It's not what you think. It's what he thinks. He believed her to be out of his league. That's all that matters. And, why do you only rate the things that you can visual observe as noteworthy.

Michelle's mom didn't much like Obama when they started dating. She's a big fan of him as a husband and father. The Obamas have their moments, as do all married couples, but their love for each other is real.
