How much is the McLean tax? One house I looked at had it listed for a small amount (in the hundreds of dollars) or did I read that wrong?

The McLean tax goes towards the McLean Community Center.

It also depends on the value of your house.

It's not that high, but still, it's money.

McLean's property values didn't drop as bad as those outside the beltway, to include Vienna, Centreville, Fairfax, etc.

the difference is that for local level iv classes, principals have the discretion to fill their class with students who were not admitted to the aap program. this helps with staffing ratios.

The "intended curriculum," as Asst Superintendent Peter Noonan states, is the same. But the peer groups are different.

Peter Noonan uses the analogy of attending Virginia Tech in Blacksburg for a 4-year degree vs. commuting to the northern Virginia VT center over in Tysons. At the end, both get you a diploma that says Virginia Tech on it. But the 4-year college experience in Blacksburg is akin to the AAP Center, and the commute over to Tysons experience is like the Local Level IV program at the base school.
