I guess you’ve never known anyone with an unexpected stage 4 cancer diagnosis. Some cancers are very aggressive.

I don’t know anyone with asymptomatic stage 4 cancer. There would have been some signs for him, and if there were signs — even if he ignored them or just recognized them retrospectively — there would be plenty of ways doctors would have picked up on it. At the very least, unexplained weight change.

I don’t think he’s special. I do know he’s a billionaire though.

My husband felt fine and was at work when he had trouble breathing. He was diagnosed that day with stage 4 lung cancer, never smoked, had a complete physical 2 months prior and died 6 months after diagnosis. He was a medical doctor so he knew symptoms. You are being obtuse..

I wish King Charles, and Catherine, the best.

I'm so sorry. I do think some of these posters must be very young and naive about cancer. .

+1
they think people who have money/unlimited access doctors, are invincible. but relatively young (and sometimes really young) rich and famous die all the time...

I thought they have plans for all the major royals. They are continuously updated.

Personally, I think it would be great to reveal the types and stages of both Catherine’s and Charles’ cancers. It would be a great opportunity to educate people on the great varieties, treatments, and outcomes possible. Cancer is not the death nell it used to be for a great many kinds of cancers. Being so secretive just adds to the perception that it is sure death.

this is what is happening, but papers need to sell papers.

You’re an idiot. You really need to educate yourself before posting. My dad was diagnosed at stage IV with no symptoms. Prior to that he wasn’t even taking any medications regularly.

Yup. I can’t stand posters like that. Knows nothing but thinks they know everything. It’s laughable.

That happens when you make a claim to be something called "royal". All of them can choose to leave the institution.

Sure but not really. Only an idiot would betray your family. See Harry. And if he walks away then George is King? If they all left UK would fall apart next day. They have no traditions outside of Royal family. Our soldiors take an oath to the Constitution -- they have no written constitution. They take an oath to the King. Take that away and the whole country goes.

This is a solved problem.
When the royal line is unavailable, a Regent or Steward takes over. Same thing but with a little asterisk until someone makes a claims for the royalty. There's an order of succession that goes through all manner of cousins.

The fact that they haven’t revealed the types of cancers make me suspect they’re aggressive types.

He's in his late 70s. He's very aware he's not invincible. He's probably glad he made it to the inauguration and had some time to serve.

His parents made it into their late 90s as did other members of his family. These people seem to live very long lives, so I am sure he assumed he would be similar. If he followed the trajectory of his parents he would have had +/- 20 years on the throne.

The Royal is appointed by God. God knows. The past hundred years proves it.

I don’t feel badly for him at all. His mother never wanted him to be king. He’s lucky she didn’t pass it right to William.

You feel bad, not “badly.” Please use correct grammar.

It depends if she feels like she’s gonna throw up then she feels bad for him… But if she feels turmoil in her soul, then she feels badly.

People who use the word gonna really shouldn't try to correct other people's grammar.

What makes you think Catherine isn’t “going to be ok”?

The December 28th ambulatory motorcade

"ambulatory" ?!

He spent most of it lying in Camilla's bed. His mother refused to abdicate because she knew he would be a terrible king.

I don’t think anyone in their 40s with young kids and a sick wife is ready to lose their last surviving parent and significantly step up their profession responsibilities. Doesn’t matter what the role is, those circumstances are beyond stressful.

Ribbon cutting void. That’s a good one.

I think this is very sad. But it also shows us that cancer doesn’t care who you are, how rich you are, how much medical access you have.
