Taylor Swift album Tortured Poets Department leaked early?

Probably because it’s not about one of her past relationships, but instead about a child (I think Aaron Dessner’s son). It’s such a beautiful, sweet song that captures the innocence of childhood. Made me think of my (now adult) children and cry.

They ignore and don’t know all the ones not about relationships and then pretend there aren’t any!

(Disclaimer because apparently that is needed - no, I do not think Taylor is a god; yes, I listen to all kinds of music.)

Thank you! Yes!

Here's my current list of favorites ranked from the original 16 tracks released. I am still figuring out where the anthology tracks 17-31 fit/rank.

1. Down Bad
2. Florida!!!
3. loml
4. Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?
5. Fortnight
6. I Can Do It With a Broken Heart
7. So Long, London
8. But Daddy I Love Him
9. The Alchemy
10. The Tortured Poets Department
11. Guilty a Sin?
12. Fres Out The Slammer
13. My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys
14. I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)
15. Clara Bow

Wouldn’t it be fitting if she and Matty got back together and she brought him on stage to sing Post Malone’s part in Fortnight at her August Wembley show in London at the end of the European leg of her tour?

Here is to hoping! I love me some epic love story with an ending that no one could have predicted (but a mastermind).

This is not an epic love story. It's toxic as f**k.

Yeah but Taylor really loved Matty didn't she? I thought she was just having a summer fling after breaking up with Joe.

They only a month if that. Should not be hard to get over.

That's not their story, AT ALL, but OK, if you want to believe that, fine, who cares.

Ok, then, fill us in.

OR you could refrain from commenting about things you don't know about? Or actually listen to the album? You could try that? She pretty much spells this out.

Why does this thread keep trying to make fortnight happen. It's not going to happen.

I listened to Fortnite and cannon stand the way she uses the same three notes on repeat and then holds one note for most of the verses. I understand now why her lyrics stand out it is because there is zero melody. That one line that sticks in your head sticks there because you are so thankful she added a little bit of variety in the tune that it sticks in your brain.
This is nothing like love story or shake it off. Those were decent pop songs.

Happen? It exists. It’s happened.

I have no musical ear and don’t know the difference between a harmony or a melody so this doesn’t bother me. But my friend who is more musical mentioned something similar . I listen for the words and emotions and not the music - if you’re a music person I can see it might be difficult to enjoy.

Well she posted a new YouTube shorts video and it looks like she is standing in front of something with the TTPD logo while practicing for the tour starting up again May 9 in Paris. Looks like the set list is changing and we are getting another Era!

I love the album, possibly my favorite of hers. Particular favorites:

But Daddy I Love Him
The Tortured Poets Department
Fortnight
Guilty As Sin
Down Bad

I am so glad she released it, and I predict she will win all sorts of awards and accolades for it. I just can’t imagine being Joe or Travis listening to this. The lyrics in Fresh Out Of The Slammer…omg. She details how she couldn’t wait to get back to Matty Healy, her “home.” Not what you want to hear from your ex after a 6-year relationship!

And I wonder what Matty thinks about all this love and yearning… She seems to be crying out to him with this album.

Robin is a beautiful song. It’s one of my (and my teenage daughter’s) favorites too.

I finally listed to this album today. (Without reading any of this thread)

I found it really dark.

Is Taylor OK?
