Guidepost Montessori?

Anyone here with experience at one of the Guidepost Montessori schools in NoVA? They are opening a new one in Alexandria, and we had not heard of them before. Any reviews to share?

My understanding is that Guidepost is the new name for the La Port Montessori schools after they were acquired. La Port has had a good reputation over the years. Don't know about how the transition is working out. Transitions are often difficult but hopefully, things have settled down.

My LO goes to Guidepost. The transition from LePort was seamless and it's the same. My LO is a wild child and I'm not sure the whole Montessori thing is for her. She gets incident reports a lot and they're really strict there, HOWEVER the teachers are at another caliber. We used to go to another daycare (think Primrose, Kindercare) and the Guidepost teachers are another level. The head instructors all have degrees and most the afterschool help are moms of students.

My experience with potty training there was GREAT too. I would recommend it if your child would do well with the Montessori concept and is generally well behaved and can sit still during circle time lol.

Which location does your child go to?

Looks like all the Guidepost Montessori schools popping up across America are owned by the Chinese government.

Where did you hear this? O.O

It definitely has a very corporate feel to it and the business is backed by international investors. It’s not your local homegrown neighborhood preschool, that’s for sure. Just good to be aware of the business model.

Right. Prove it. That's a serious allegation.

This mentions a Chinese partnership. Any additional info about this?

I just called a location and no one answered the phone - which makes me wonder if they route all calls to California (where it is not even 9 am yet). Their website doesn't list any numbers other than CA - I only got number b/c I saw a post on FB about event.
