Apple pie without the crust?

Anonymous
OK, so my favorite dessert is apple pie or apple crisp, but I love the filling and am rather ambivalent about the crust. Does anyone have a good recipe to make just the apples??

wouldn't it basically be just baked apples?

Slice the apples, layer them in a pan, and cover with some bronw sugar and cinnamon, maybe a few dots of butter, and bake?

Cooking Light has a recipe for a Maple Walnut Apple Crisp that I love: http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=223084

What? Have you never had homemade pie crust?

How about apple brown betty? I used to make it weekly for my dad ... just slice the apples and toss with sugar and cinnamon as you would for an apple pie and place in pie pan. Prepare a crumb topping of flour, brown sugar and butter and sprinkle on top and bake.

Wouldnt that be a cobbler! Yum!

I too would say a cobbler might be what you're looking for.

I also am eh about pie crusts. And yes, I have had homemade crusts before - just not a fan.
