My DS gets mailings quite frequently from a fairly large handful of schools, but this one is getting ridiculous. He is getting 3 different mailings a week from them. I don't think he is SLAC bound anyway, but it is definitely turning him off the school. |
You know you can message any college and ask them to remove him from their list.
Save paper and all that. |
Pepsi, RC, or Coke? |
OP do you speak Italian? |
My old roommate's GF and now current wife went to Colgate!
Damn I hated her...annoying... |
For dd it’s University of Chicago and Columbia. Neither one would ever let her in (33ACT 4.0w gpa, white suburban girl) , so their letters and emails are extra annoying. |
I went to Colgate. Your child probably won't fit in if he has a mother who complains on message boards about mailings when in the same time she could unsubscribe from said mailings. |
She/ you should sue that school for spam and (I'm sure) aggressive, uncorroborated claims. Then use the story for some truly unique college essays |
The nerve of that highly selective college sending mail to your house trying to get you to apply! You are totally smart to be turned off by that as it is complete and perfect evidence that the college is subpar! |
I'm the OP. I said I found it curious, I didn't complain or say I can't figure out how to make it stop. If you are representative of Colgate alumni, I agree it is probably not a great fit for my child. Furthermore, if I complete your argument for you, shouldn't it be on my child to make it stop? Why should I step in and interfere? |
PP. Typical response from a Crest grad. |
My kid who’s a sophomore in college still gets mailings from Colgate. Not a huge deal but it does make them look a little dopey. I have three in college and of the many schools (a hundred?) Colgate is alone in missing the boat. |
