5 pages and no one brought up that Trump also said he might consider no longer having WH press conferences?!
I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this. Like there really isn't much *there* there with Russia, but the goal is to send Dems into a tizzy demanding an investigation. When it doesn't reveal outright collusion, even overt graft and money laundering won't look so bad. And he's sowing the seeds of building just enough support that he will be able to remain in office. Democratic norms be damned. |
Confessing is not as bad an idea as movies make it out to be. But random statements tweeted to the public can be used against you. Trump has successfully gotten out of trouble in the past by shredding documents and paying fines. That won't work now. |
Who cares if he doesn't have WH press conferences any more? There would be a bit less entertainment. And fewer lies. Beyond that, I don't care. |
More tin foil please. |
Has anyone watched the HBO show Masters & Johnson. Do you know that little closet room at the end of the office where the machines are that tape the conversations that happen in each room of the office? And the boxes upon boxes of tapes that they have cataloged of conversations? This is what I picture Trump having. |
Here you go: |
Ugh, explain how we stay informed and keep him in check is there are no press conferences? Can you explain to me the function of the press conferences and of the free press, it kind of serves a purpose. |
Actually I think not having the press conferences is a good idea. Obama had very few, but Trump seems to love the drama of it all and started the daily press briefings. I say, go fo it, don't have those press conferences. I mean, he already barred the press from his Russian meeting (and allowed the Russian photographer) so why not? That, plus making threats on Twitter, is mind boggling. It might be best if he sticks to Twitter where everything he says can be preserved for future investigations; he can't deny it or place blame on his staff. I mean, he just pulled a Nixon this morning and it's out there for everyone to see--no matter whether Trump or staff removes it or not. |
Very troubling. |
Rumors have circulated for years that the Donald installed listening devices in offices throughout Trump Tower in his quixotic effort to root out "disloyal" employees. Just sayin'. |
Press conferences and the free press are entirely separate things. Can you explain to me why we need WH press conferences? Trump tweets enough on his own. |
Okay. Then, people who are calling other posters names are emulating Trump by your own definition. Could the poster who claimed the tweet provided the opportunity for probable cause please explain. I give you permission to belittle my intellect for asking. TIA. |
"Being used against you" is quite a broad statement. |
Sweet! It really will be another Watergate, then. |
After Watergate, the idea of tapes are wholly illegal. |
