Agree - a McMuffin and coffee are probably by a large margin the best breakfast you can get off the highway. That being said, other than the rare roadtrip breakfast, I don't think I've been to a McDonalds since my mom took me once when I was maybe in kindergarten? We rarely ate food away from home when I was a kid, and I rarely eat fast food now (and then it's usually Chick-fil-a).

Up until last Saturday, it had been years. But I was on an unplanned long car trip, needed gas in the middle of nowhere, was hungry, and didn't want to waste the time to stop somewhere else . . . so I got a Big Mac and fries.

So freakin' delicious. Every single bite.

I felt like crap later, of course.

Don't sleep on the hash browns.

We don't go on long car rides. We fly, and bring a bunch of snacks onto the plane. Dh and I are both foodies, so we're more likely to make a milkshake or fries at home. I don't understand your point about "how people ... move ..." Why would moving houses necessitate going to McDonalds?

DP but there are certain situations where your family needs to eat immediately, you don't have access to a kitchen, and there's very little open or nearby. Like if you spent the day moving and it's 7:30 and you can't cook because there's no food in the house and you need to eat now, not in 40 minutes when a pizza shows up. The thing about McDonald's is that it's incredibly fast-- you can be eating within a few minutes of placing your order.

Okay, that would never happen to us. Firstly, we are city people. There's no such thing as "very little open or nearby" in places we live or go. Secondly, if we were moving we would place an Instacart order to be delivered within an hour of us arriving at the new house. Thirdly, since we have kids, DH or I always have some snacks with us. Even though our kids are in upper elementary it's just habit at this point. Today while I was out there was dried mango and mixed nuts in my bag. If you operate as if fast food is not an option you'll find other solutions.

NP, and I really, really hope I don't know you, or your husband. Good GOd.

The irony here is that nothing says "I love McDonalds" like being able to identify the last time you ate it down to the month and year.

I do not love McDonalds but don't hate it or look down on it, and eat there a few times a year out of convenience. The fries are legitimately good, but only if eaten immediately. I also love an ice cold Coke but really try not to drink it often for health reasons. McDonalds is the rare place where I will 100% order a coke no matter what else I'm getting, because it just feels wrong to go to McD's and drink water. We've also stopped there for ice cream many times for a quick treat -- their soft serve is consistently decent enough that I will go there over an unknown option if I just want an ice cream cone or a hot fudge sundae.

I have not had any fast food of any kind since 2019. I have not ate at a restaurant since feb 2020. I prepare all my own meals.

I went to a restaurant last Sunday after more than 6 years of avoiding them. It was glorious! Expensive, but glorious. 10 out of 10 recommend it.

I'm a sucker for the sausage biscuit or the breakfast burrito. Yes yes, I know everything in there is being frozen and reheated, and the eggs are probably powdered and reconstituted. Oh well, it's tasty!

I used like Chick-fil-a but now I'd honestly rather get McDonalds. If I want a hot chicken sandwich, I'll hit up a local chain like Roaming Rooster where the quality is way better. If I just want a fast meal via drive thru, I think I probably prefer McDonalds for quality and service.

Where else can you get a huge iced coffee for $0.99?

Take the kids once in awhile, sometimes I eat with them and sometimes I don't. We have a location near us that has only been open a couple months, the food has actually been pretty good.

Gluttonous. Medium is more than enough.

We live one block from a McDonalds. I haven't been there or to any McDonalds in over 15 years. Not since I found out humans were included in their hamburger meat and sacrifices are done in every new McDonalds build.

You don't have to believe me. Do your own research. It's all there.

My DD and I used to get a cinnabon to share at Burger King once a year - we called it Diabetes Day. And for a few years we'd go to McDonalds once a year for a Shamrock Shake until I realized I could make one at home that would be much less unhealthy, and she liked it so we stopped going to any fast food about a decade ago.

We're just city people. We stick to cities, both to live in and to visit.
