How soon is too soon to take a HPT after an FET?

| Hi. I just had my FET on Thursday, October 1. I had one really good 5 day blast and one not so great 5 day blast transferred. I was wondering....is 4dpt too soon to take a HPT?? Any experiences with this? |

The earliest you can take a hpt with any IVF cycle is about 5 days after a 5 day transfer or 7 days after a 3 day transfer (so 10 days after "ovulation"). However, hpts taken at this point may very well not be accurate because it is VERY early---basically at least 4 days prior to a "missed period" (as the hpt box says...).
FET embryos often implant LATER than fresh transfers so in your case today is too early, tomorrow is the earliest you might get a result (5dp5dt) but most likely a hpt won't begin to be accurate for another 3-4 days. And this still might be too early in the case of a FET. |

| I just got a positive on the HPT I am on my 10dpt (FET) the ET was on 12/18/10, my beta is scheduled for 12/30/10. Just one more day! |

| I got a positive test 10 days past FET, followed by a positive beta on day 14. Four days is likely too early since it takes a while for the implanted embryo to generated enough HCG to be detected by HPTs. Also, as a word of caution, I have heard of stories of women getting negative HPTs and positive betas - one of the reasons that my RE really discouraged the use of HPTs (I just couldn't help myself and tested anyway). | I thought I was crazy by taking a test 4 days after fet, so I didn't look and put the test in the medicine cabinet. Days later went back and it was positive, but I was like, maybe it sat too long. Took another, yep, positive. |

| I have my first beta on Tuesday then another on Thursday...took another hpt with first urine this morning...still BFN! Why am I torturing myself? I had my fet with 3 good 6 day blasts on Wednesday...if I were pregnant, wouldn't hpt pick up hcg by now? Thank you! |

Hi there.
Did anyone else experience cramping and mild clear discharge after their FET? I'm on Progesterone suppositories and wondering if that is the cause. Thank you! Hoping for BFP on Tuesday's BETA, but worried the cramping is a sign of AF coming. |

| Hi I just had my first round of IVF. We had a fet with 2 full that he'd embroys. I took a hpt at 4dpt this morning I took another both negative. I am devistated!! Is there still hope? Is it to early in transfer for hpt to dectect any levels? And is it true that frozen embies take longer to implant? I keep hearing/reading ppl say they registered w a positive using a hot on day 5 however all these ppl used a fresh cycle. Can someone pls give some input as I have been in tears all morning. |

You are only 4dp5dt or 9dpo--way too early. I'm not going to tell you to try again in a few days, because I know once you broke the seal on a box of FRERs they are like sirens to use every morning!
