What's going on with FCV GA?

If their best players g to VDA, and the rest go to Revolution…who is left to try out for FCV? I have to be missing something

Best players is a relative term. You would more accurately describe it as BP's favorites who are not necessarily the best. Most are only following due to USYNT prospects through BP. Don't expect that to be maintained for any amount of time at VDA.

Until the next big soccer earthquake, they may benefit somewhat, but expect many of those kids leaving to be back in Loudoun in a year or two to claim a spot on a GA or Loudoun based ECNL team. There are many false promises being made right now.

The VDA way baby!

If you can’t develop them. Fire the Girls ECNL director and let the new one replace half the players with their favorites. Rinse and repeat when the classes age out.

The area is only about 8 years from when VDA was formed, sounds about right. Next shake up will be in about 3-4, not sure if BP lasts that long there.

News flash - all the clubs are shady

+1000

VR parent here who has seen a lot of FCV kids at recent tryouts. NEVER had any issues with Revolution so not sure why they are being labeled as "political" since literally each and every soccer club in the DMV is POLITICAL and shady, you just have to pick your poison.

I think parents are forgetting that clubs do not care about your kids, they care about the $$ that their business can bring in. This is quite evident if you look at all of the posts in the last year or so.

These last few posts are some of the truest, most level-headed I've seen on this platform so far....players in this area are on a merry go round of clubs. The girls leaving FCV are really good, don't kid yourselves VDA parents, some of your girls will be cut to make room for them, it's how it went when MW took over and it will be the same when BP takes over. Your girls will be looking for a new club, this will happen at Union and Revolution as well - maybe some will even end up at FCV. I lost my innocence with this sport in this area a long time ago...you should never hang your hat on a favorite coach or club because they ultimately take care of themselves. Find a place where your kid will get the best training and one-on-one attention and then pound the pavement with schools - you will ultimately get the best results.

VDA = VA Tech
BP has no connections to any National team.
You VDA parents are in for a complete life shock in a few weeks.

VDA = Dayton, Tennessee, virginia tech, Princeton, Radford, Xavier, Boston u, Clemson, seton hall, Maryland, Florida state, nc state, st Joseph, Stanford, jmu, ucla, north Arizona, Charlotte.

We are really happy for BP to be coming in too!

100% this

No one is safe. No club actually cares about you father than what they can get out of you. 99.9% of your kids are not nearly as special or unreplaceable as you think they are.

The whole "Revolution has had no politics" argument is so stupid. Revolution has no politics because they are bottom feeder teams right now who will take anyone. Just wait until next year now with GA...politics always play a factor.

There are politics at every club. Some are just more covert about their agendas.

Because the mason coach will pick the best available players, not players coached by his spouse

I didn't think many FCV players ended up at GMU

VDA college placement record has been really strong in recent years without BP. It’ll be adding strength to strength.

Strength appears to be strength until toxicity takes over and then theirs a blow up. Reality is reality and there's no changing it.

Truth be told. It's every man or girl for themselves.

Don't forgot VMI and JMU too, VA is covered. Too bad the Mason pipeline is not going to be flowing any longer

Why wouldn't the mason pipeline flow? VDA has the GMU head coach on staff part time.[/quote

BPs wife was GMU head coach and was fired.

Yes, but the new mason HC is involved with VDA also now on a part time basis.
