The entire way this article is constructed is wrong. The background on both women is great. However, it presents them as both as innocent victims. I am a print and broadcast journalist and what we have here is a lack of an experienced editor looking at this. This is an instance of one woman who was having a serious affair with a man she knew was married. And we have another woman who snapped and became a cold-blooded murderer. And then the cheating husband who was traveling from DE to PA to bang this chick? I mean, come on.

But, OP, I think your subject line is correct. You don't know when engaging in an affair how the spouse will react. You also don't know when your spouse engages in an affair how the AP will react. There have been stories of crazy AP's killing spouses, too.

And it helps if when I'm complaining about editing that I actually proofread my complaint. I'll blame it on me being half asleep and not really needing to spend too much energy on this today.

I have told all my friends that are having affairs that you are just putting your child's life in danger, whether it is emotionally or physically. It's literally the most selfish (along with drug addiction) thing you can do to your kids.

I tell my kids...... just walk away, it's the best revenge.

My roommate in my 20's caught his girlfriend with our other roommate. He walked in the door, looked at them both and said "try to keep it down", walked to his room, locked the door and went to bed.

A coworker got the sh*t beat out of her by her AP's wife. Put her in the hospital The AP was a friend of coworker's husband and the two couples socialized together. Obviously not any more. As coworker and I developed an admittedly mutual attraction, one of the first questions she asked was, "What would your wife do if she caught you in an affair?"

The thing is, you don't know. How can you possibly anticipate how your spouse would react, I don't even know how I'd react. I feel strangely apathetic about the possibility, but who knows, maybe I'd snap if I found out if my DH was schtupping his work wife.

PP here...I said she'd curl up in ball and cry for 2 weeks. She's not the violent type, but she'd be devastated. And then she'd throw me out. She's made that clear!

Right, because that is the same as catching a cheating spouse.

The wife was clearly a murderous lunatic, so I'm not saying that is the right reaction either.
