Strivectin - horrible reaction!

Anonymous
I bought a strivectin neck cream yesterday and tried it on for the first time today. Broke into a horrible rash all over the face and neck. My face is still puffy and angry red, after applying hydrocortisone cream. I took 2 Benadryl in addition. Horrible, itchy, angry welts all over my face and neck. Anything else I can do to bring this down. ? I'm miserable. Trusted the brand since it is so popular

This stuff should not be sold in stores. Downright dangerous?

That sounds like an allergic reaction. Not an inherently dangerous product. I sympathize - reactions suck and I am very sensitive to products.

Try ice.

I reacted to their neck cream too. Try an antihistamine to reduce allergic reaction, hydrocortisone cream or you can get script for cortesoid type cream, also take (Tagamet, Pepcid or Zantac) with antihistamine. Strange but dr. Recommended as it has synergistic effect for hive type rash.

I love you! It seems to be working, specially after taking the antacid. Who would have thought? !
This is why I love dcum.

Thank you all

I tried their face cream once and it burned! But, I have very sensitive skin. My mom has skin like rubber and it didn’t bother her! Feel better!

Wow, that's so weird. I've been using it for a few months with no issues and my neck is normally very sensitive as well.

I haven't had any issues with the neck cream that I bought on Black Friday last year from QVC.

Not sure it's fair to say it's dangerous, OP, as any new skin product can cause a reaction. However, I'm very sorry you had such a terrible experience. Glad it's improving with the PP's suggestions.

I was also starting to see welts on my chest after 2 days and gave it up. So disappointed.

Hmm. I use it with no issues and my skin is pretty sensitive. Thanks for the head up. If something come up, I will assume it is the culprit!

I have very sensitive skin and rosacea. I’ve had no issues with the neck cream. I only use it on my neck ,not face.

I am allergic to Supergoop glowscreen though. Awful stuff. Feels heavy and sticky and my reaction is watery eyes, sneezing, etc like seasonal allergies.

Strivectin neck cream is the only topical product that has ever caused an allergic reaction in me - red welts and itching all over neck. This was YEARS ago too when it first came out. Still haven’t figured out what the problem ingredient was.

I used the neck cream a few times and it was fine, but this last time my neck was on fire. Rash has moved to upper arms and face, but is really dry and itchy with small bumps not the larger welts like in the beginning.it’s been since Monday! 😫

It’s probably the preservative - CHLORPHENESIN.
