I'm at my in laws and starving. They made lunch at 2pm and served up plates then immediately put away left overs. Nothing but coffee has been served since and this isn't an open kitchen where you can help yourself. I'm starving. Everyone is just sitting here working on a ridiculous puzzle. |
"Nancy, I'm a bit hungry. Do you mind if I make a plate from the lunch leftovers, or would you rather I eat something else?" |
Ask about dinner plans. |
My in laws do this too! They go out for breakfast at Starbucks when the mood strikes them - I like to eat when I get up - lunch eh they could leave it or take it - and dinner is usually a protein like fish and veggies like broccoli and salad no carbs - I am visiting tomorrow and have learned over the years - I have frozen chicken for my backpack (cooked and will thaw by the time I get there), a ziplock of oatmeal, snacks up the wazoo - can you go sneak a snack? |

I said that around 7:30pm and was told "we just ate! No need for that!" |
Go for a drive to look at Christmas lights with DH, and hit up the Taco Bell drive-thru! |
I told DH we need to take the dog on long walk and go get food quickly |
Omg. Rude hosts. |
That's hopefully happening in the next hour |
It's 10pm. No dinner here |
It's 9 pm and still no dinner? |
Comforted that I am not alone! |
I would hit up a fast food drive-thru as well.
Just don’t wait too long since their hours may be different since tonight is Christmas Eve. |
Old people with old people appetites forget that younger people actually need to eat regular meals. |
