Welcome to the swamp, boys and girls! Instead of getting drained, the Republicans have made it even friendlier for the reptiles.

Oh look! Washington DC at work! Ruling more of our lives.
But I guess you're upset, because it wasn't YOUR party in DC lobbying, huh? |
How many lobbyists wrote Obamacare? Oh wait....that's different. It's OK when liberals do it. |
"We need to pass the tax cut to find out what's in it" |
It is a little different. The goal of the ACA was to provide health insurance to tens of millions of people to ensure that people who had preexisting conditions were covered to make sure that all health insurance policies offered a decent set of services including preventive checks mental health etc. if you want to do this without creating a government run program like Medicare you have to get buy in from insurance companies and health care providers |
Of course. Rationalize it. Because you wanted it. Way to go. |
It hurt millions of people who can no longer afford health insurance - or crappy plans with high deductibles. Liberals like to brush that under the rug. |
The swamp has taken over. Thanks Trump. |
This thread is about the tax bill, but since this tax bill is going to hurt even more millions of people who will no longer be able to afford health insurance, I can assume you opposed it, right? Or are you brushing that under the rug? |
The Koch brothers wrote this tax bill. |
So you are happy with the tax bill? |
The scary thing is, they added so many giveaways in the last day, no one actually knows what the deficit score would be. |
This makes me so sad for the country. It just cuts at the very fabric of our faith in the integrity of the u.s. system. Societies falter when the belief in a fair system falls away. Why should the little person play by the rules if the big corporations get giveaways? I see this as a huge encouragement to people to work and pay for things off book. Arguments I might have made to friends in the past regarding each of us sharing our fair load - well I no longer have much of an argument as to why the little person should play by the rules. The rules only apply to the little guy, the big corps get the republicans to ditch all the rules - from taxes to net neutrality to manadatorybarbitateation - the deck is staked in favor of corporations as “people” and against individual human people. Such a sad sad realization. We are just moments away from being no different than any other corrupt oligarchy. So much for spreading the us system globally. Instead, Russian corruptions comes to America. |
What is Public Citizen? Is it an organization that advocates for public policy? Most members of Congress are not qualified or capable to write legislation on their own, so it is not a big deal to get outside help. Ultimately, the members of Congress should be held accountable in 2018 for their votes and what they ended up putting in the legislation. Regular Americans pay a very small percentage of federal tax revenue, and their taxes are going down. So, it is unclear what the Public Citizen lobbyist is saying. |
Newsflash: The little guy isn't playing by the rules. NO ONE is playing by the rules. Do you get that? |
