Hillary for 2020!

Anonymous
Unless we have a viable candidate for 2020 - and the names presently being mentioned are not exactly inspiring - we may be best off going with Hillary again?

So says an article in Salon:

Are you sick of Republicans? Or just right-wingers in general? Do you want to send a message to Washington that you aren't going to buy into their racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic and classist nonsense for one second longer?

Then do the very thing that Donald Trump unintentionally encouraged in a recent tweet: Encourage Hillary Clinton to run for president in 2020!

I'm sure this is the part where the Clinton-haters — be they Trumpers, Bernie Bros or anything in between — will say something to the effect of, "Of course he wants her to run again. That's the only way he'll get re-elected!"

Slow your roll there. Clinton's poll numbers aren't too good right now (OK, they're downright atrocious), but there are still four great reasons to consider choosing her as the Democratic nominee in 2020.

1. Hillary Clinton is the Winston Churchill to Vladimir Putin's Adolf Hitler.

2. Hillary Clinton being elected president (at last) would monumentally piss off misogynistic trolls, and what's not to like about that?

3. By winning the popular vote convincingly in 2016, Hillary Clinton has earned the right to be considered the presumptive nominee in 2020.

4. We can expect her to be a good president.

For the last time: HRC will not run. She has zero interest. She was publicly humiliated the last time around, and she is acutely aware that the majority of Americans can't stand her.

Plus, she's far too old.

The next candidate will be in his/her 40s.

Had to look up the author of this poorly written opinion piece to see why something so clueless can be penned.

Matthew Rozsa is a Ph.D. student in history at Lehigh University and a political columnist. His editorials have been published on Salon, The Daily Dot, The Good Men Project, Mic, MSNBC, and various college newspapers and blogs. He is also Communications Chairman for the Northampton County Democratic Committee (PA). For a full review of all his published work, visit matthewrozsa.com.

Also discovered that he has Aspergers. That may be why he feels the need to perseverate. A classic symptom.

Plus Democrats don’t want her. Full stop. She wouldn’t win a primary.

And I agree that the Gen X white men are uninspiring. And the Biden, Bernie, Warren generation needs to bow out. But Gellibrand, Harris, Duckworth, Booker, Klobacher? Yes please.

Why are Trumpkins so obsessed with Hillary?

Hillary hate is one of the few issues that unites what’s left of the GOP. They have to keep resurrecting he. They need somebody to hate because hate is what unites and motivates them.

It is not going to happen. I am looking at Kamala Harris for 2020.

Kamala Harris? A half black/half South Asian liberal woman from California you think is the answer to winning white votes in the states that will decide who wins the electoral college?

If she is the nominee count on President Trump through 2024.

How do I know she will be the nominee? Because Trumpkins spend so much time and energy trying to convince me that Dems shouldn’t nominate her.

40s is way too young

Why do you want the Clintons? Bill was a predator and Hillary went out of her way to silence woman who stood up to him.

Actually nominating her would be their dream come true! But I am confident we will not do something that dumb given what happened in 2016. We need a white, Christian, middle aged guy preferable from the south or the mid-west - definitely not anyone from CA or the north east.

BTW, nothing to do with Harris' qualifications - but 2020 is not her year.

There are a lot of people in the democrat party. Why must you keep going back to her? Everyone hates her. She's way too risky. So many choices and you have to go back to her?
