"Sharing this message below, with permission from parents of the child. Please feel free to share widely to help:

Kevin Franklin, an 8th grade student of Takoma Park Middle School has gone missing from Rockville, College Gardens area yesterday.

Kevin went out for a walk yesterday around 5:15 and has not returned home. The police was called. Friends and neighbors of the family have been helping with the search. Flyers have been posted in the neighborhood information is being shared on listservs and social media.

Kevin does not have a phone with him but just in case he tries calling a friend, I wanted to request that if you are an 8th grade parent, please ask your child if they know Kevin and tell them to inform you if he calls .
Also if you hear your child share something about Kevin that might be useful, please call the numbers given in the flyer.

Something weird like this happened in our neighborhood, too. Girl went missing, someone had her for 4 days and we got no more detail past that. We assume someone she knew abducted her, but it was so bizarre.

If he lives in College Gardens but goes to school in Takoma Park, I think they'd be searching there as well and everywhere in between?

I hope he's found quickly.

Umm, there often is? I have a friend on FB who always posts when there is a kid missing in DC or Maryland. Not Virginia though. Not sure what your point is.

He was last seen heading out of his house at 5:30 pm yesterday, so I'd guess they're looking more up in Rockville.
