Does anyone know more about this story? Is there info on the suspect? She was apparently walking away from the mosque during early morning prayers/eating (last days of Ramadan)?

OP here - I did find this. She was assaulted early this morning, and now found dead. Ugh. Heartbreaking.

She was found dead in Loudoun County - Sterling, to be precise - following a joint search by the Fairfax and Loudoun Police Departments.
Did you even bother to read the story before you posted it? |
Way to miss the point.

Via my FB feed. Sounds like a hate crime
https://www.facebook.com/is.chaker/posts/1391977080884911 UPDATE: I was given permission to release her name and photo- Beautiful Nabra Allah yr7amha. Just heard from the victim's friend of the tragedy that happened last night outside of Adams. She said that a group of about ten girls were going to McDonalds to grab food during Qiyam time. A car pulled up with two men came out with a baseball bat swinging at the girls. This girl fell and was left behind. They kidnapped her then murdered her. This is what the world has come to. Our youth are being targeted and are not safe in our communities. In these blessed nights of this month, we are being tested beyond imagine. May Allah grant her jannah and make this unbelievable tragedy easier on her family. No words. |
Actually, the two articles have conflicting information. The first one has the headline "Missing Teen Found Dead in Fairfax County, Suspect In Custody" and says the body was found in Herndon. The second one says the body was found in Sterling. I guess we will have to wait to find out which is correct. A press conference should be going on now so maybe more details will be available soon. A tragic event regardless of where it occurred. |
I'll take that as a "no," you didn't bother to read the story. Try harder next time to understand the facts before you start a thread with a misleading title. |
| What!? Oh my goodness this is awful. |
| Oh my god. That is awful. I hope they are brought to justice and that her family can find peace. |
| Tragic, but why were they out at 3 a.m.? |
It seems premature to jump to conclusions. This may or may not be a hate crime motivated by religion. Remember that a Muslim boy was murdered in Montgomery Village recently and it turned out it was revenge over a botched drug deal. Still despicable, but not random and not based on religion. |
They were participating in an overnight activity at the mosque. This is not uncommon during Ramadan. Also, press conference by Fairfax County Police. |
Going to get food in the allowed hours of Ramadan fasting. They left from ADAMS center as a group. |
