Where is Kingsbury moving to?

Anonymous
I see from the D.C. Public and charter school forum that LAMB is probably moving into the Kingsbury space. Does anyone know where Kingsbury is going?

Can you quote what was said or link to the LAMB website where it says this? It may be pure speculation or Devos already devouring SN schools.

It is on a DCUM thread on the DC public and charter board.

It isn't a baseless rumor. LAMB sent a letter to all it its families Friday afternoon. It said they have a deal to buy the building and hope to be operating there starting fall 2018.

The location change will have to be approved by the DCPCSB. That public comment period hasn't been opened yet.

Why doesn't LAMB have a link on their website?

This would be a tragedy.

LAMB won't put it on its website until it is approved by the DC Public Charter School Board.

Kingsbury is probably just moving - not closing.

Kingsbury is not moving

According to whom?

So why might Kingsbury put their building up for sale?

Has enrollment dropped? Are prospective families choosing other schools and the DC location is inconvenient to them?

Again. Kingsbury is not leaving the building

Well, why don't you explain this? Are they co-locating with LAMB? Renting back?

It's actually listed for sale or lease. Click into the promotional flyer. It also suggests that Kingsbury is a tenant, not the owner?

Kingsbury told parents that the building will be sold to a "bilingual charter school." Starting in 2018-2019 and continuing for the next 6 years, Kingsbury and the other school (presumably LAMB) will co-locate. Kingsbury currently uses only half of its building, so there's plenty of space. During those 6 years, the board of trustees will decide how to use the money raises through the sale of the building -- to buy, lease, or build a space in their current neighborhood.

The 1st sentence says that Kingsbury is the owner.
