S/O how is the Revlon one step dryer better than any other hot air brushes?

Anonymous
Thinking about buying the Revlon one step dryer based on all the rave reviews on a previous thread, but what I don't quite get is how this particular product is better than all the other similar items available. Is it just that a round hot air brush gives great results for straightening your hair, or is the Revlon item in particular really that great?

You can use it on wet hair.

You can use the others on wet hair as well.

It probably isn't better, it's just newer. I would just get a really good hair dryer - I have a Conair Blackbird and it is honestly the best hair dryer I have ever had. I use the comb attachment and it gets my very curly hair very straight.

It dries my hair faster than anything else I have used.

The better question is - how are any hot air brushes better than a regular drier and brush?! I think the people that love it have never experienced a powerful drier (sedu is the best) and brush that really grabs the hair to create a smooth blow dry (ys park round brush).

Because for those of us who aren't super coordinated, it's just one thing to manage. I've never been able to manage bulky blow dryer and a round brush well. Now I just can use two hands to manage the brush.

OP here. This is me as well. I've never been able to manage the hair dryer and round brush.

I find it faster than any dryer I have used, and I have used some really nice hairdryers (currently have a Super Solano). And, yes, it's easier than using a brush and hairdryer. I wish I'd had this for the past 20 years. Plus, I don't have to worry about leaving it on (sort of impossible) like I do with my Babyliss flat iron.

For the record, it doesn't give me volume so I think the volumizer is a bit of a misnomer. My hair is fine, curly and around shoulder length.

I agree about it not giving volume. It is a brilliant straightener for frizzy hair.

I have had a few of the cheaper, smaller ones. They work pretty well. Like this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Revlon-Perfect-1inch-2inch-Brush/dp/B000PXYAL2/ref=zg_bs_11058221_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ZJHEN2CMPAR15CE7KQ97

But I bought the one the OP recommended b/c my hair has grown a bit and the one above was on its last legs anyway, and wasn't doing so great since my hair is longer.

I really am loving it. I have half wavy/half super curly, always amazingly frizzy hair and it looks so much better. I don't know if it is the oval shape or the type of bristles? It could also be the air flow - much more air flow than the one I listed above.

Are you talking specifically about this one?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LSUQSB0/ref=sr_ph_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1491574707&sr=sr-1&keywords=revlon+volumizer

Because if so, I recently purchased it based on that thread about it on here, and it's literally AMAZING.

I have super thin, fine, limp hair. My hair has never looked this full of body before...I think ever actually. And, it lasts all day long.

I don't know what kind of magic or voodoo they put on this thing, but my hair has never looked this good!

That sounds great -- how long is your hair?

+1 best I've owned

Np here. I bought one too and was skeptical. I love it. Makes my shoulder length medium thick hair look awesome. I actually like my hair again. Hate to say it but the fans here are right. I've tried other drying brushes and a heinous straightening brush. I still like my flat iron too but the revlon thing is kind of a miracle
