Preschools that accept 3 yr old in diapers

Are there preschools that don't need your child to be potty trained after age 3?
My son isn't potty trained and the preschool he is to attend has a no diaper policy.

I know Babara's Montessori in NW dc does.

You still have time. Just train him now. School doesn't begin for another month...

Why not potty train your son now?

CCPC and CCBC both said in tours that there were no requirements.

Is it just for a few hrs? If so, you could probably have him trained enough by Sept. so that he goes before he gets to school or once he is there and he shouldn't have a problem going 3 hrs or so later.

1) you can try to train now. The main thing, as the PP said, is to reach the stage where your child can go a set number of hours (corresponding to the hours in school)

2) you could probably get away with pull ups the first weeks if your child still needs some help.

3) if your child is hell and gone from being ready, just tell the teachers and ask them what to do. It's not your fault (or your kid's) if you child is not ready yet. Don't stress.

Not all children are ready at three. According to a big study last year, the best age to START potty training is three. And then the average child will be potty trained by 3 1/2. If you start earlier, let's say at 2 1/2, the studies say the average child will take more than six months to be trained.

In case you think I'm being defensive, I'm not. I have three kids - two girls who potty trained themselves before they were 2 1/2, and one boy who wasn't fully potty trained until 3 1/2.

Anyhow, the OP might just not have a child who can be potty trained by September. Not sure, but it's a strong possibility. I have two friends who tried to potty train their daughters very early and neither girl was fully trained until nearly 3 1/2.

I know it is hard to train your child, but the summer is the best time to do it.
