Didn't realize you had to play previously to be able to coach. Stop trolling and go find something better to do with your life. |
We're lucky to have both of those guys. |
+10000000 The Troll must be Jon Snow, because he clearly knows nothing. |

Why VYS is removing the Cross Over program? I believe the program was nominated the best program in US few years ago, right? My older son participated few years ago. He loved it! |
From looks of it on the site, it looks like cross-over was renamed.

$220. Yikes! Practice til 8pm. Double Yikes! |
It's an improvement from last year. I'm willing to give it a shot. |
Funny how what they are describing as the keys to develop the player are only being done via additional training at an extra cost instead of providing that at all stages of where a player interacts with the ball or the sport. |
Give them even more money and they might put "elite" in front of the training. |
So you insinuate, they aren't doing enough now? Please elaborate with examples. |
Unfortunately it's not only a VYS problem but I don't think enough is done to prepare the volunteer coaches to properly teach the players. Many of them have not even played soccer before and even having played is not enough. Simply giving a volunteer a couple of balls, cones, and a field space is not enough. Due to that fact, clubs create additional training/pre-travel at an extra cost to teach things that kids should be learning every time on the field that ALL players should have an opportunity to learn and not only those with $$$. |
Quick shameless plug: If you have a 2006 boy and are interested in joining a small, high-quality travel club, FPYC is looking to fill a few remaining slots before the season begins. Please email soccertd@fpycsports.com if you are interested. |
Problem is that it's hard enough to get parent volunteers to do that much. Suggesting that they attend training, etc would probably be a deal breaker for most. It's a shame that the club charges so much for rec. If rec was less, $220 for advanced training wouldn't seem so bad. |
How about, stop calling it rec and relying on volunteers, stop calling "advanced training" and charging so much, find a price point that allows you to get people knowledgeable of the game teaching the game and provide that training. |
