Washington Ballet audition

If your child auditioned young (5-7), what was the audition like?

Our child auditioned at age 5. The children are given numbers to wear. When called, they go into a large studio with multiple school administrators/teachers. Parents do not go in. The children come back seeming happy (they must make it fun somehow!), and you get the results in the mail a few weeks later. Our child got a spot. A few acquaintances' children did not; I'm not sure if they auditioned again later.

The atmosphere was about what we expected: large numbers of excited small girls, along with some pretty wound-up parents wielding cans of hair spray, but plenty of more relaxed parents, too. Good luck.

Thanks! I was just wondering if it was stressful for the kids in any way but sounds like it's not.
