Yes, Soros reportedly lost a billion dollars and Icahn and Paulson made over $1.1 billion between them. I am surprised that Trump has not tweeted about how Soros is a loser and that his friend Icahn is a winner!
While stock markets soared to new highs following Donald Trump's election, billionaire investors George Soros lost close to a billion dollars as a result of that rally. In contrast, hedge funds run by Trump advisors earned a windfall on their stock portfolios. Billionaire Carl Icahn made upwards of $700 million on November 9, while John Paulson reaped over $463 million on the same day. http://fortune.com/2017/01/13/george-soros-donald-trump-stocks/ |

Good!! Loser. |
He had a billion to lose. You didn't. |
Can’t stand Soros. Glad he lost a wad.
I also think there is something unethical about betting on an election. I just don’t like it. I know people do it, but it just seems wrong. |
Yes, and you know that little old 700 point futures drop in the wee hours of the morning? It was reversed by one billion dollars Carl Icahn left the party to spend on stocks. Paulson made lots of money the same day, the same way.
Do you realize that every time Trump tweets blather about publicly traded companies, and sends their stocks crashing, someone cashes in big on Wall Street? George Soros may not be a saint, but he isn't a fascist. |
At least Soros is attempting to promote education and open government. That is a hell of a lot more than I can say for Trump, Ryan et al.
Hungary is his home country, and he is now being punished by the latest wave of fascists there. |
Billionaire Carl Icahn's hedge fund lost more than 20% last year, and John Paulson's many funds also lost in 2016. |
So glad to shake some $$$$$ out of the girder and get it into our economy. ![]() |
Conservatives perseverate over George Soros. It's fascinating to me. But since you are, a billion is a mere 4% blip for him. Soros has given 11 billion to philanthropic causes. If Trump would have followed this example, he should have donated 2 billion by now. |
"philanthropic causes" ?? You consider BLM one of his philanthropies? They've done nothing but worsen race relations. How about all those innocent people he hurt in the UK just to line his own pockets? I assume you know about this: "On September 16, 1992, Black Wednesday, Soros's fund sold short more than $10 billion in pounds,[41] profiting from the UK government's reluctance to either raise its interest rates to levels comparable to those of other European Exchange Rate Mechanism countries or float its currency. Finally, the UK withdrew from the European Exchange Rate Mechanism, devaluing the pound. Soros's profit on the bet was estimated at over $1 billion.[49] He was dubbed "the man who broke the Bank of England."[50] The estimated cost of Black Wednesday to the UK Treasury was £3.4 billion.[51]" A lot of people's retirement funds were directly damaged by Soros. He is behind a lot of other very insidious schemes here and in Europe. Look into his past further; he is a very evil individual. |
Thank you Soros for supporting BLM! |
Met with a business exec who works with a lot of companies this week. He said companies are spending NO money. They are just too uncertain and have no idea what Trump might do. They are also freaked about about being the target of his tweets. There is just too much danger. If he likes a company they get boycotted and if he doesn't they get chastised. |
True dat. ![]() |
Yes, I am a senior leader in a major area company and we are during crisis management drills using the scenario that we are the next subject of one of Trumps tweets. Crazy. |
Trump is a cheap, he also does not have 2 billions to donate. |
