french peeps what's going on? Everywhere I read, fillon was considered to be the third choice behind juppe and sarkozy.

fillon is smashing it now.

runoff on the nov 27 between fillon and juppe. everyone is saying with the socialists having no shot, effectively the presidential election next year will be whomever wins the runoff vs. le pen.

putin now has both candidates that are 'open' to his world view with fillon and le pen for 2017.

sarkozy is supporting fillon so his victory in next week's runoff is all but assured for a spot in the general.
