VYS Soccer - better or worse?

As always VYS is completely disorganized! We are surprised that some former BOD still involved. Especially those that destroyed the club. Maybe the job is not done yet!

One officer -- VP of House -- has been there forever. The others have been there for one year max.

Three past presidents are at-large members.

NO.
Most club teams don't even start practicing until August, and field permits have to be assigned by the county, and generally speaking there is a lot of admin stuff (involving clubs and leagues, not just VYS) that hasn't even been completed from the Spring season yet.....so let's hold our horses. Also realize, that with age group changes, some teams are still being formed and players being added; again, with many clubs, not just VYS.

Let's stop trashing VYS, please! Everybody knows that Michel Vanderhart is the only one defending VYS and a fomer Board Member is attacking VYS. You guys need to move on.

I'm not Michel, and I've defended VYS a good bit here. (I happen to know him, and I think he steers clear of this board.) I've never been on the VYS board, and I've also attacked it a bit.

Besides, we're actually pretty sure it's a former coach doing most of the garbage-spewing on here.

LOL, it is a soccer club, why would anyone possibly be angered by anything it does? There are lots of soccer clubs and none of them are terribly important in the scheme of things.

That is a burden that we all share.

Here are some reasons why:
We try to win at early ages.

We tend to select "athletes" and not soccer players at younger ages. We are fixated on athleticism and should be fixated on technical skills.

"Win now soccer" teaches for long ball soccer tactics versus "boring" possession that relies on technical ability and speed of play.

We as parents are over involved in the process, I.E. this entire thread. Why so much worrying about club politics when all that matters is if your kid is in the right environment and learning the game the right way.
