UChicago or Princeton? Is UChicago more like a peer to Duke?

You can both be right -- some intellectual kids will apply to both and disproportionately prefer Chicago. Some kids (a smaller group) are just ranking-obsessed and apply to both (they probably are more likely to choose Pton if they have the option). Lots of kids for whom Princeton is a dream school would have no interest whatsoever in UChicago and wouldn't apply.
