$300-400 per window at Lowes. That's Anderson pro line 400 series aluminum clad wood. 20% off sale every spring (April?). They come in an enormous variety of standard sizes. We install ourselves. If same size as ones you are replacing (within an inch or two) then no need to be handy at all. You will be offended at how little is holding your current windows in place. Rip out old plop in new. Clean up and paint. Very simple. |
I didn't read the whole thread, but everyone seems to be responding with recommendations for replacement. I have a cheaper alternative - how horribly fitted are you talking about? My windows were drafty when I moved in. I simply caulked wherever it was needed. No more draft. And the fix was less than $20 for the whole house. |
