That’s basically what I came away with after watching. How self centered of him—as someone who needs neither money or fame — to subject his kids to having to hear their mom and family as the butt of so many brutal jokes.
He’s definitely the best QB of all time and probably the handsomest man alive today (!) but probably not the best person to build a life with.

I thought the roast was very funny. But, I cannot believe he let people joke about his kids and ex-wife. Wow, what a jerk. His kids aren't that young. No doubt their friends are watching it or heard the jokes.

But, handsomest man alive?? Ha, no...

+1 We can now see what she was up against. Too much ego.

Can someone explain all the jokes about Gronk being dumb? Is this a common stereotype about him? If so, why?

Hi Gronk.

Tom and Kim were spotted together last year. Not on a date, but they were in the same group so guessing they know each other socially.

I’m the PP you’re responding to, and I agree that I thought it was very funny, seemed fun for those attending, and the comedians were largely quite talented. But yeah, left me a little nauseated on behalf of his ex and kids.

I still do think he is exceptionally beautiful though !

Well first Gronk is a common name used for cavemen. I have no idea why but it’s true. But also, he says some really boneheaded things even though he’s a super nice guy and does a lot of charity work. One of his more famous ones was yo soy fiesta which literally means I am party.

Nikki Glaser and Andrew Shultz were great. Kevin Hart was also pretty solid given that he needed to keep 3 hrs moving at high energy.

Not sure why it needed to be such a celebration of the Patriots for a national audience. Just when that fanbase could finally sit the f down, they are given more life breathed into their insufferable “look at how great WE are”… They could still have a roast of Tom Brady without so many of his teammates delivering unpolished, long-winded “roasts”. Gronkowski is insufferably untalented speaking in front of a camera. Spiking that shot glass just illustrated how he’s got the comedic mentality of a 13 year old. Julien Edelman? That guy just seemed coked up and his “jokes” were so so lame. I can appreciate the opportunity to watch a night of comedy not restrained by PC filter, but when your punchline is literally just “you’re gay”… so lazy and dumb.

Agreed especially since there's probably an overlap with her bf and Tom. He was her son's teacher first. I am positive they knew something was up before it came out. It's still a very fresh situation. That should have been completely off limits

There's very little that is off-limits at a roast, and Tom Brady did make a stand about offensive material ... only it was for the Patriots' owner and not his own family.
