When you work from home, are you able to go on long runs or walks?

maybe the people you see are retired, or work nights or WHATEVER....to assume it's a bunch of 9 to 5ers slacking is dumb "mind your business" is very appropriate here lol

Shrugs. I get that this aggravates the standard 9-5 MC set to no end, but it’s just one of the “perks” of working all the damn time.

You’re projecting. Nobody is “aggravated,” it is mere curiosity.

Where in the OP was there even an insinuation of slacking on the clock? There was none.

Yes.

I walk my dog for 30min to an hour, depending on the day, and encounter a lot of people walking alone, by themselves, with or without dogs. Some of the people walking alone have earbuds and are clearly in meetings.

She's jelly because being a SAHW isn't so hot when you're giving up a six figure salary that also allows you to stay home.

You both sound a bit paranoid and immature. I've literally never posted in this sub forum before. I make great money, there's no jealousy. I'm in health care, I can't do my job remotely. I was just trying to understand how I see so many people jogging and walking at super random times during the work day.

And those people are wondering why you are out and not working at random times during the day. Don’t you have a job? Why are you getting all sweaty? Where’s your phone and your laptop?

You are one of the people you wonder about. Which makes me wonder about you.

What is with this defensive posture spammed over and over. If you’re working so hard, why is this so touchy? It is a totally harmless question. That’s it. Nobody is indicting you for goodness sake.

Are you dense? The OP was dripping with insinuation and judgment.

My work hours are 8:30-5:15 (which includes a 45 min lunch). I don’t typically take a long lunch or get out and exercise but if I were to I could take an hour and a half (lunch plus 45 mins) and work until my kids are home at 6.

You are assuming I work from home when nothing in my post indicates that I do. I merely asked you the same questions you asked. I held up the mirror. Why so aggressive?

A few people I know get all their work done for the day in 2-3 hours and then basically do house stuff and work out for the rest of the day, as long as they don't have meetings. They all tend to be individual contributors and not in management positions. They are in amazing shape!

If you're in a management position, you know that your Outlook or Google calendar looks like a barfing rainbow. You're on back-to-back meetings that make it impossible to do something like a long run.

Maybe you are the WFH poster who is walking her dog four miles a day.

This made me laugh. Barfing rainbow! I have started blocking time off, once a week, for wellness. People schedule me even though my calendar says I’m busy. I decline unless it’s my boss or their boss.

At home I use half an hour to eat, take the dog out, and do a small 5 min chore like load laundry. I rarely have more time to do anything more than that besides quick bathroom breaks

Yall need real jobs lol

+1 This

My job is essentially all "deep work" - meaning not very many meetings, lots of reading and planning and writing. I often can only do a few hours of deep work each day. My boss doesn't care when I'm logged in. He cares about what I produce. If I disappear for two hours in the middle of the day, nobody cares.
