Kelly for a boy?

Kelly was traditionally male name until the trend began to give male names for girls, e.g., Carter. Dylan. Taylor, .etc.

I remembered this thread when I had a male server named Kelly at a restaurant last weekend. He was around 30 with gorgeous green eyes.

How about Susan Kelly Surname? That way he can choose whether he'd like to go by Kelly or not. He may prefer Susan, or Suze, or Sue, or Suzie...

I knew a kid named Kelly Jo, and all of us fellow kids assumed that her dad wanted a boy.

That's how much perceptions have changed over a relatively short time. I'd go for it.

My husband has a traditional female name and hates it. Also I have a gender neutral name so it confuses everyone. We purposely picked gender specific names for our kids

My BIL is a Kelly. He played high level college football, and is from a southern state. I’ve never questioned his masculinity.
