I am wondering about this study as well. The school will open August 2017, therefore a boundary decision should be forthcoming?

PP is hinting at the fact that the superintendent is supposed to give his recommendation exactly on todays date. Its unclear though if it will happen or not.

Remember that this is just the superintendent's recommendation. It isn't binding. The Board of Ed's decision doesn't come out for another month.

Hasn't stopped me from refreshing the news all day, tho....

Has it come out? The WJ cluster rec did.

Wow, lousy decision. Option 1 was by the far the best choice. Now there will be a dramatic differentiation in FARMS dispersion between the two middle schools, and the new middle school will be at 99 percent capacity from day one -- even though there is massive new development already underway around Chevy Chase Lake.

So is this a done deal, or do we get another hearing?

I think it's a fair compromise between options 1 and 6. As a RCF immersion parent I'm sad that we won't go to the closer school and that we will split from the regular program but I'm EXTREMELY happy the local kids won't have a hardship.

So if I have a kid in 7th at Westland now, and my house is in the zone for the new middle school, will my kid go there in 8th or stay and finish at Westland?

Wow, I'm surprised.

Everyone said Option 1 was the preferred choice all around.
