She is innocent until proven guilty, but if the charges are true, this is obscene.
Glad to see this indictment is moving forward.

Government corruption is everywhere.
Yes, it's the new normal. Only a matter of time until more of them are caught. They feel little need to obey the laws which are written for the little people. This time it's another democrat. It's everywhere, people. |
Actually, there are 434 other House members and 100 Senate members who have not been indicted. Sure, there's corruption, but it's not "everywhere." I can't say many nice things about our politicians these days, but the vast majority are law-abiding citizens. |
What makes you think most of them obey our laws? They haven't yet been caught? As a starting point, could you name (just off the top of your head) who you'd consider squeaky clean of your local politicians? This means that those under them aren't bending (breaking) the laws for them either. |
I never said they were squeaky clean, but there are miles between squeaky clean and corrupt. |
I agree but the question is upon conviction, will SCTUS throw out the conviction. I think the McDonnell decision emboldens politicians to continue on the state of corruption. |
Has Rep. Fattah left the House yet? |
| Lifelong Democrat here. This story is terrible. If she did this, she should be punished. |
I am not sure why one's party affiliation is relevant. That should not matter for cases of corruption. |
| Its hard to n be partisan. For a Dem to say this is pretty open minded. |
He resigned last month. |
I know many local politicians who are squeaky clean. Much of the Alexandria City Council, for example. I know many national politicians who are squeaky clean. Let's start with John Lewis. |
| There's corrupt, and there's stupid corrupt. How long did they think they could get away with this? |
| I'm from Florida. Pretty much everyone here- Democrat and Republican - has known about her shinnanigans for years. This is not new. And she is guilty. She has a few supporters, but the majority of Floridians would love to see her in jail. |
