Resources for handwriting issues?

I apologize if this isn't the right place to ask this. I have a 5 yo in Kindergarten. We're currently posted abroad, in Australia (where it's winter and in the middle of the school year right now). He's having some difficulties with fine motor skills, manifesting as problems with handwriting. His teacher is working with us on some exercises to help, and we're on a waiting list for an OT evaluation. However, there is a 6 month wait for the eval, let alone for services. There's a serious shortage of OTs here. Does anyone know of any good online resources or books or anything that might help me learn about normal/non-normal fine motor skills at 5 yo? His father and father's mother also have had lifelong problems with handwriting.

Have you tried "Handwriting Without Tears"? It's a workbook and program used frequently with great success by OTs. We used it with our first grader and have seen good progress. Good luck.

I was also going to recommend the Handwriting Without Tears program. I have heard many success stories from parents and teachers who have implemented this program with their children/students. Good Luck!

OP here. Thank you so much. I'm ordering today. I may get the pre-K version for my 3 yo too. It looks like fun!
